Participation in and engagement with LARC occurs through member sites.
Member sites are academic or healthcare institutions with an interdisciplinary team led by a PI or co-PIs who are responsible for each site’s overall role in and commitment to LARC and ILC research and manage the team's membership.
The team at each member site is made up of investigators representing broad research and clinical expertise (along with a commitment to ILC research) who work together to facilitate independent research and contribute to shared LARC research projects.
LARC’s scientific work is carried out through Working Groups (WGs) responsible for translating strategy into deliverables. WG's are made up of site members across institutions and are led by WG Chairs or Co-Chairs.
Maintain consistent participation and communication, contribute meaningfully to consortium-wide efforts.
Share early-stage ILC research ideas to get group feedback, develop collaborations, and limit competition.
Foster internal, cross-disciplinary collaboration in lobular breast cancer research.
Contribute site data to a shared retrospective database for LARC clinical/translation studies.
Represent their member site within LARC and participate in full consortium meetings .
Build and maintain an interdisciplinary team (research + clinical expertise).
Ensure active engagement in LARC projects and WGs.
Align site activities with LARC priorities and maintain transparency on independent research efforts (collaboration over competition).
Facilitate resource sharing (e.g., data, biospecimens, expertise) for collaborative projects.
Hold regular meetings, define deliverables and timelines, and report progress to LARC.
Standing WGs: Formed around general expertise (basic/translational research, clinical, resources) to identify research gaps and opportunities, develop concepts and proposals, coordinate shared datasets, tools, and expertise.
Project-based WGs: Formed around specific projects, responsible for outputs such as datasets, abstracts, manuscripts, and clinical recommendations, dissolved upon project completion.
